Christian Militant

A Christian militant is one who holds some objective in mind and fights the enemies who oppose him in achieving his objectives. Who is the enemy of a Christian militant? The Word of God tells us in Ephesians 6 : 12 –

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Our fight is not against any human beings, whether they are Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs or Buddhists or Atheists – they are all our friends. The Satanic Spirits which instigate people to quarrel, murder, commit adultery, molest, steal, kill, create extremism, spread hatred are our enemies. It is against these wicked spirits that we fight. Our enemy is not any person or religion but the wicked spirits who incite people to do these things.

Jesus says in Matthew 5 : 43 – 48 –

Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.

But I say unto you,

      Love your enemies,

      bless them that curse you,

      do good to them that hate you,

      and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Jesus says in Matthew 5 : 39 –

But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.  

Every militant has his weapons. The weapons of a Christian militant are mentioned in

2 Corinthians 10 : 3, 4 –  

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 

Ephesians 6 : 13 – 16 –

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore,

having your loins girt about with truth,

and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 

We are to put on the whole armor of God –

1. Truth as a belt
2. Righteousness – Holiness as Breastplate
3. Shoes -  Gospel of peace
4. Shield – Faith in God
5. Helmet – Salvation through God
6. Sword – The Word of God
7. Attack – Through prayer in the name of Jesus

During the time when extremism was a problem in Punjab, we conducted prayer walk in towns and villages and prayed to God to defeat the enemy - the Satanic Spirits which create communal clashes. Through prayer in Punjab, several extremists surrendered with their weapons. We handed them over to the government authorities.

Recently during the 62 days of curfew due to the land problem in regard to the Amarnath Shrine Board, we prayed for peace to prevail.

Who is a Christian militant?

He is a prayer warrior who fights against the enemy – Satan. For Kashmir extremism, Christian militants, prayer warriors, are on their knees and pray to God and fight against the wicked spirits in the Holy Spirit and bring peace.
