Ministry on the Mountains of Nepal

Thanks a lot for your prayers. The team has just returned from Nepal after a successful trip there. The trip was very dangerous, lot of physical exertion was there. God granted us the grace to go to Okhaldunga. here thousands of people reside on the steep Himalayan foothills of Mount Everest.  Okhaldungha is the base - a district that is very close to the Highest Mountain on Earth! The roads are dirt tracks blasted on the side of the mountains on which only tractors can go. The journey from Biratnagar, a city close to the Indian border took three days to reach Okhaldunga. On the way the team had to sleep in ramshackle lodges on two nights.

This "road" worsenes steadily as it wound its way deep into the mountains, at its worse points leaving only inches between the bus and a 2000ft drop into the valley. With gradients of about 1:3 in soft mud, and bends requiring three-point turns, the slow drive was frightening. Although we got through without incident, several people get killed while travelling on this road. Getting place on the bus is also hard. People are forced to travel sitting on the roof. On many occasions the people sitting on the roof are forced to come down and walk for some distances where the curves are very dangerous. Becuase driving the bus on the curves with people on the roof is very dangerous. The bus owners would not give the five team members seat in side the bus only three got seats, the other two had to travel on the roof top.

Mid way through the journey, a section of the road was swept away by the rains. The team had to walk through the dangerous pathway carrying their luggage on their back,  few days back a young man, slipped and fell down 3000 feet and died at that spot, no one went to pick up the dead body also. There are no signs of the government constructing a new road. All supplies to the districts lying on the other side have to be carried on the back. On the mountain tops a biscuit packet costs 50 Rs. Rice also costs 50 Rs/kg. a cement bag costs 1070 Rs. Petrol for the tractors and the buses on the other sie is carried on the back therefore the bus fare is also very high. The buses are only upto Okhaldunga the district headquarters located at a height of nearly 6000 meters above sea level. from there the mount everest can be reached in two days on foot, the everest is at the altitude of 8848 meters.

Another major problem is the maoists insurgency. The Maoist rebels of Nepal and the government signed a peace deal and stopped the ten year long war that took lives of so many people. Now, the 35,000 Maoist cadres are supposed to surrender their weapons to the local cantonments and go to the rehabilitation center. However, the whole process is not so peaceful and smooth. Still, the Maoists rebels in some places are creating problems. According to the report published in Okhaldunga, in many places Maoist cadres are holding on to the lands of local people and forcefully taking away their crops. In Okhaldunga, the Maoists are holding the local lands and seizing crops from the farmers. The cadres are not concerned about the peace deal. In Nigali, Maoist cadres are living in the house of local people and eat in their house. When in some places Maoist cadres have become a major problem, Nepal has started to take baby steps toward establishing pro-people democratic government. The country was under monarchy for hundreds of years. It is natural that this sudden change would not be very smooth.

There are people leaving on these mountains at these altitudes. There are believers up there. The team walked for hours to reach them. Please pray for the siants there and the servant of God who is ministering there in these heights. God be willing the team will be again going to these places in Febrary. we do not know how long Nepal will be open to the Gospel. Pray that dedicated servants of God may be raised up for ministry in this section of the world.

Bible Classes for Pastors and Elders 

The Bible Classes were arranged in Purnea from Oct 30 to Nov 4. Pastors and Elders from Nepal and Bihar attended these classes. Ministers from other fellowships also attended the classes. God used the servants of God to minsiter the word of God to the saints there.

There was a mighty outpoiring of the Holy Spirit. Twenty Two Bhutanese Refugees who are temporarily staying in Nepal also attended the classes. Many of them were Bhuddhists. God filled many of them with the power of the Holy Spirit. Pastor Tikka Ram is ministering in the Refugee Camp. Pastor Tikka Ram and all Refugees are staying in small temporary cottages and there is not enough room for the people to gather together. Therefore God enabled us to give them some money to construct a larger cottage for prayer meetings. Since they have no means of earning, God enabled us to provide for their journey expenses, food and accommodation. Pray for the ministry in Nepal and in Bihar.

The new viles of the enemy

During the Bible Classes while I was teaching about the guidance of the Holy Spirit, a Pastor from Bihar explained to me about the work of a spirit in Patna and Katihar. He said that a Pastor and a group from Madras came along with a Church leader of South Korea and taught them about different ways of working of Holy Spirit and Jesus. They used to take an individual believer to a dark room and tell the person to confess their sins. Then they lay hand on that person and pray for that person and they leave the room and lock it from outside and watch that person through a window. That person will cry aloud and then a spirit take control of that person and that person begin to dance or shout or play games.  One educated girl from Hindu background also underwent this experience. I personally talked to her. She said that when the Pastors left her in the dark room and closed the room from out side, then a spirit took control of her and another spirit appeared to her saying that I am Jesus and I have come to play Kabadi game with you. She played Kabadi game with that spirit running up and down in the room. She physically touched and caught that spirit’s body several times while running up and down with that spirit body. She played Kabadi game with that for about twenty minutes. Afterwards both the spirits left her.

The Pastors who were watching all these things through the window opened the door and said to her that Jesus has accepted her in to his family. Another educated girl also underwent the same kind of experience. Her father died few years ago. The spirit came to her and said that I am Jesus who has become your father and now I have come to comfort you. Then the spirit body talked to her like her father and embraced her and comforted her. After that the Pastors opened the room and welcomed her into Jesus Family. This group is known as “Jesus Family”. On 5th Nov before our departure from Purnea, I called these two sisters and prayed with them. Then through the Holy Spirit I commanded the wicked spirit to reveal itself. Immediately one of the girls became violent and began to shout and tried to attack other people who were in the room praying with me. Her body shape become like a wild beats, hands and legs twisted, face like a ferocious beast with threatening bulging eyes and fingers twisted like iron claws.

The group of Pastors and Elders who were praying with me were frightened when they saw the ferocious beast like form of the girl. Immediately the Holy Spirit gave me great power and anointing to command the spirit to come on its knees and I fought with that power spiritually without touching the physical body of the girl. That spirit revealed that thousands of Pastors across the world are under its influence. This spirit claimed that it gives fame, wealth, visions, gifts of healing, performs miracles, gives ability to preach, ability to influence people so that they may submit themselves to the wishes of the person who possess the spirit. All these things happened in the presence of several Pastors and Elders who have come for the Bible Classes.  2Co 11:14 . And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. God granted me grace to fight against this spirit hundreds of time through the power of the Holy Spirit. I write this special news to you so that you may be watchful about the deceiving spirits. Please do not believe every spirit. These days Satan in the form of Angel of Light perform miraculous healings through servants of God who are after fame, positions and money. Remember Jesus’ words “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.   Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works?   And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Mat 7: 21 -23.
