Ministry in Jammu & Kashmir

Pst Samuel is in Rajouri City that is a district close to Pakistan in Jammu & Kashmir state we hope you remember about the persecutions in Rajouri. Few months ago two Brothers and two Sisters were attacked by the people hostile to the gospel while they were visiting people  and took them to a secluded place to burn them alive but some how police happened to pass by that way and rescued them and brought to the police station. In front of police men they were beaten again. They were sent to central prison under false charges but after 15 days they were released.

Rajouri and Poonch are two big Districts of Jammu and Kashmir located along the border of Pakistan. There is lot of extremist activities in this area. Rajouri town is located in the valley of two big mountains. Poonch town is also located in the valley of two big mountains. People in thousands live in the valley and on the mountain ridges.

The people of different faiths, caste and creed are living in these districts. Races like Gujjars, Bakerwals, Punjabis,  Kashmiris and Rajputs-mostly muslims  are living here. Gujjars are mostly residing on the slopes of mountains. Bakerwals are  nomadic tribes. Most of them rear herds of goats and flocks of sheep. Gujjars and Bakerwals speaks Gojri whereas rest of the population (excluding Kashmiris) speak Pahari/Poonchi. 

Pst. Samuel has been persecuted two times in Rajouri. Once he was put in house arrest for three days in Rajouri. Once, our small prayer hall was burnt. Three times Evangelists labouring there were persecuted. In spite of all persecutions and oppositions, the Lord is saving people.

Evangelist Ramesh Chander is labouring in Rajouri with a small team, to support themselves they work as casual laborers and at times sell roasted peanuts in the streets.

Pastor Samuel and his team will be ministering in Poonch District. Poonch which is popularly known as mini Kashmir is the smallest in area  and the remotest district of Jammu and Kashmir  state. It is bounded by the Actual Line of Control (ALC) from three sides.The ALC is about 103 Kms.Evangelist Kashmir Masih learned carpentry and is now labouring in Poonch with a small team.
